John was across the street from the World Trade center on September 11th, 2001 in the Verizon building at 140 West Street on the 17th floor when the two plane attacks occurred. He has written a song in dedication to the people in that building with whom he escaped down the stairs and ran northward and away from the destruction. The song is "140 West Street" and is on the "Intervals of Light" CD. It is also a dedication to those who perished on that day.
